On Thursday 30th June all the nursery pupils met with some of their parents/grandparents in the school hall to see Nick Martin with all his creatures! We saw a variety animals, from a tiny little lizard about the size of a human finger to a big boa constrictor. Some of us were a bit frightened of things like the tarantulas and the gigantic millipedes. Nick couldn’t persuade an adult from the staff or the audience to be a volunteer to wear the millipede as a bracelet! One of the pupils was brave enough – well done Saffa! Here are some of our pictures. Congratulations to all the nursery pupils on their successful year in nursery. We are looking forward to having some of them back in nursery next session and we wish all the other pupils well in Primary One.Nick Martin 003Nick Martin 004Nick Martin 002Nick Martin 009Nick Martin 012Nick Martin 013Nick Martin 008

What a fabulous week we all had last week and even though the weather wasn’t too great, it certainly didn’t spoil our fun!

On Thursday 9th June 2011 Crown Nursery pupils went to Rosemarkie Beach. We had a wonderful day – rock pooling, playing in the park, making pictures with items we found on the beach and sticking onto card to take home, making pictures on the sand using items we found on the beach – this was a competition and we had lots of enthusiastic individuals who won prizes! Some of us went for a walk along Fairy Glen where we found lots of items belonging to the fairies who live in the woods. Those who stayed on the beach had a treasure hunt. We had our snack on the bus because it was raining when we arrived but it soon cleared up and we had our picnic lunches beside the beach. Lots of parent/grandparent helpers and Mrs Kelly all helped to make the day a big success! Thank you and well done!

South Highland .Saturday 28th May 2011 025

On the 28th of May, Crown School, as well as 40 other schools, participated in a field and track atheletics event. There were lots of events such as high jump, long jump, shot putt, sprint and longer distances. We were also entered in four relays!

Crown pupils and staff, were very pleased with the result of coming 3rd over all in the big shield as well as winning many individual medals throughout the day.

We could not have taken part without Mrs Hutchison and Mrs Danby so we are very grateful to them! Also a big thank you to all the parent helpers who were present at the event!

Art for La Baule

Posted by: | June 7, 2011 | No Comment |

Today some of the pupils from P7EM went to the Inverness Museum and Art Gallery to meet with pupils from Cauldeen Primary and our Provost, Jimmy Gray. The two schools had been working on wall hangings to send to our twin town in France, La Baule. The theme was colours and the children could interpret that in any way they wished- have a look at what they came up with!
